Northern Ring Expedition
Where Four Continents Meet: A Single Landscape Mirroring Argentina, Tibet, Switzerland, Atacama
For whom
Perfect for travelers short on time but hungry for epic experiences.

Our most popular itinerary—tested and perfected through countless journeys.

Arrival/Departure: Bishkek (round-trip)
Best Season: Mid-May to mid-September

Every photo you see is from our actual trips.

Kok-Moinok Canyons
The Secret Slot Canyons Everyone Drives Past

Just minutes from the highway—yet completely deserted. These surreal, Mars-like rock formations remain overlooked by most travelers... which is exactly why we love them.

Song-Köl Lake
Kyrgyzstan's Tibetan Treasure

This high-altitude jewel (3,016m) has rightfully become our country's signature landscape - and we wouldn't have it any other way. Some destinations demand to be included in every itinerary, and Song-Kul is unquestionably one of them.

Canyons of Forgotten Rivers
Kyrgyzstan’s Best-Kept Secret

While everyone flocks to tourist hotspots, this hidden valley remains gloriously empty—complete with a drone-like viewpoint few ever see.

Kyzyl-Oi Red Bowl
A sacred secret among our team—this untouched valley remains blissfully free from tourist crowds. We're endlessly mesmerized by:

• Nature's paintbox – Stratified cliffs in fiery reds, golden yellows and lunar whites
• The Kökömeren River – A sapphire serpent winding through desert towers
• Conglomerate cathedrals – Wind-carved rock formations mirroring Argentina's Calchaquí Valleys

"This is Northern Argentina transplanted to Central Asia—minus the crowds and postcards."

The Roads Less Traveled
The Roads Less Traveled
In Kyrgyzstan, the journey itself is an adventure. Our routes will take you along:

Paved Highways – Smooth rides with postcard views at every turn
Dusty Backroads – Authentic rural tracks where time moves slower
Off-Rad Trails – The "Kyrgyz massage" (a playful bumpy ride through raw nature)

"Half sightseeing tour, half rollercoaster—with 100% unforgettable scenery."

Journey Map

Itinerary
Adventure Details
  • Day 1 - Bishkek - Kyzyl-Oy
// It is recommended to arrive one day before the start. Hotel in Bishkek is NOT included in the cost of the trip //

    10:00 - We leave Bishkek

The road is incredibly beautiful. At first it will go along the Kyrgyz ridge, then we will turn to the gorge of the Kara-Balta river, climb to the Too-Ashuu pass 3200 meters, and then through the Suusamyr valley (the biggest jai-loo of the country) we will descend to the fast and the most beautiful river Kyokemeren.

In the evening we go to the sunset panorama with a fantastic view of the cozy village Kyzyl-Oy, Kyokemeren, pyramidal poplars and colorful conglomerates of mountains.

17:00 - check-in to the guest house, dinner at 19:00
  • Day 2 - Kyzyl-Oy - Son-Kul
    09:00 - Breakfast

An incredibly beautiful transfer, when the scenery of Argentina's red rocks will be replaced by a vast highland similar to Tibet. And that's all inside one tiny country!

First the valley of Kökemeren with brightly colored screes, and then the road to Lake Son-Kul through the Kara-Keche pass.

We spend the night in a very comfortable yurt camp. The altitude is 3016 meters. Toilet will be outside the yurt, quite simple, but quite good for this place. For the night the yurt is heated with a burzhuyka stove.

    19:30 - Dinner
  • Day 3 - Son-Kul - Canyons of Forgotten Rivers
    09:00 - Breakfast

After a hearty breakfast you will go to study the petroglyphs, although the most important thing is the panoramic view of the lake, which will open on the way to the petroglyphs. The mood is peaceful and unhurried.

We will descend from the highlands through the pass Teskei-Torpok, aka 38 parrots. The views are crazy.

Further we drive towards the southern shore of Issyk-kul. To the shore of the lake, where we spend the night, we have to drive 14 km along the dried river bed (in rain it sometimes turns into a real river). The sight and sensations are inexpressible. At sunset we will climb up to the dizzying panorama.

If you wish, you can call a family of musicians who will immerse you in ethno atmosphere (it costs extra).

    Overnight stay at Remote.kg glemping.
  • Day 4 - Canyons of Forgotten Rivers - Bishkek
    09:00 - Breakfast

The morning can be spent depending on your wishes. In the glamping you can ride horses, watch the art of hunting with golden eagle and taiga, take sapas and swim on the lake (horses and show of golden eagle cost extra and it is desirable to order in advance, sapas can be taken free of charge at any time).

We adjust the time of departure from the camp to the time of the plane departure. If timings allow, and you will have a desire to ride horses through the canyons, this option can be arranged on the spot.

Also, if you have a completely evening flight, we have the option to stop by the Kok Moinok Canyons, which are unlike anything you've seen before.

    We drive towards Bishkek/Tamchi airport.

Living
We live in the most comfortable conditions for the chosen locations. There are no luxury hotels in Kyrgyzstan (except Bishkek), but we have the kindest hosts and very beautiful places. It will be: a night in glamping, a night in yurts and one in a guest house. On this trip we tried to find a fine balance between comfort and location. We chose the best places possible and we are not ashamed of them. The yurts have beds and you have to walk to the showers and toilets. In glamping also. In Kyzyl Oya we will be staying overnight in a guest house. Feelings from the guest house - as if we got to our grandmother's house 30 years ago. But perhaps it is there that the atmosphere is the kindest, even though it is simple.
